Are Dragons Real?

What animal has the word “dragon” in its name?

You might be surprised to learn that there are many animals out there with the word dragon in their names.

The truth is, they can be found all over the world and come in a variety of shapes and sizes–even when it comes to which type of animal they are!

In this blog post, we will discuss some popular animals that have dragons or words related to dragons in their names: Komodo Dragon, Chinese Water Dragon, and more!

Komodo Dragons

The Komodo dragon is a popular animal that many people believe to be a type of dragon.

This giant lizard can be found living throughout the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Gili Dasami.

Komodo dragons are the largest living species of lizard on Earth and can weigh up to 266 pounds!

In addition, they typically measure around ten feet long from head to tail.

Their saliva is filled with more than 50 strains of bacteria, which they use to kill their prey.

They are carnivores that eat a variety of animals, such as deer, pigs, and even other Komodo dragons!

Chinese Water Dragons

The Chinese water dragon is a popular type of dragon that can be found in the southern parts of China and in Vietnam.

These animals prefer to live near water and are excellent swimmers.

They can also climb trees very well and often spend time in the branches sunning themselves.

Additionally, Chinese water dragons are typically green or brown in color, with darker bands running down their bodies.

In fact, they can grow up to four feet long and weigh about six pounds.

These animals are omnivores and eat a variety of things, including insects, small reptiles, and fruit.

Pogonas

The Pogona is another type of dragon that can be found in Australia.

These lizards are often called Bearded dragons, due to the small spines that run along the length of their chins.

As a result, Pogona lizards can grow up to 24 inches long and typically weigh about two pounds.

They are omnivores and eat a variety of things, including insects, small reptiles, and fruit.

Draco Volans

The Draco Volans, or flying dragon, is a species of lizard that can be found in Southeast Asia and parts of Australia.

These animals are so named because of their ability to glide long distances by using flaps of skin between their ribs and legs.

These lizards typically measure about six inches long and weigh less than an ounce.

They are carnivores and eat a variety of small insects.

Sea Dragons

The sea dragon is a type of fish that can be found in the waters near Australia and Tasmania.

These animals are related to seahorses and pipefish and are prized for their bright colors.

Sea dragons can grow up to 18 inches long and typically weigh about an ounce.

They eat small crustaceans and fish.

    I studied geology in college went to see w Post in Long Island I love all animals I rescue them constantly I specialize in crocodiles skunks and so forth I dealt with cougars all kinds of birds and my life is fulfilled because I live for all the animals I come in contact with
